New colourways of the Kybrid S2 are on the way

We’ve recently seen more colourways of the Kybrid S2 surface across the sneaker outlets and Instagram pages.

The Kybrid S2 is a hybrid model from Nike that combines elements from different sneakers in the Kyrie Irving signature line.

Kyrie’s original hybrid sneaker, the Kyrie S1 Hybrid, first came out three years ago. Combining elements from the Kyrie 1, Kyrie 2 and Kyrie 3, the Kyrie S1 Hybrid featured the outsole, midsole & heel counter from the Kyrie 1, the forefoot from the Kyrie 3 and the mid-foot, strap & collar area from the Kyrie 2.

It has now been around two months since we first saw images of the follow-up sneaker to the S1 Hybrid, with the Kybrid S2 first appearing on social media in late-June. I actually really dig the portmanteau of “Kyrie” & “Hybrid” to create a new name for this sneaker, it’s well done and rolls off the tongue much easier.

As the Hybrid S1 combined elements of Kyrie’s first three sneakers, the Kybrid S2 combines elements from the next three sneakers in the signature line. They feature the outsole, midsole & forefoot from the Kyrie 4, the mid-foot & “flytrap” lockdown system from the Kyrie 5, and the heel counter and collar area from the Kyrie 6.

The first of three new colourways we’ve seen comes to us from IG user Kix R Us, and it’s a wild colourway with various bright colours, patterns, letters and symbols on the upper.

The next colourway we saw was posted by Bleacher Report Kicks, and it is a “What The” colourway that really leans into the combination or hybrid element of these sneakers.

It is comprised of various parts of colourways we’ve seen on Kyrie models past such as the “Pineapple House”, “Yellow Lobster”, “Confetti” and “Be True”.

A second “What The” colourway then surfaced courtesy of IG user Lace Up HK, this time featuring the All-Seeing Eye motif & tie-dye to go along with different elements from the “Mother’s Day”, “Just Do It” & “Year of the Money” colourways.

Release information for this model has been hard to come by, but they have seemed to be releasing steadily to the overseas market, particularly China.
