Images appeared on Instagram today of Golden State Warriors G Klay Thompson wearing his KT6 — the sixth signature sneaker he’s had with Chinese sportswear company Anta.
From these images, we can see that a bootie construction is returning along with the shroud overlay that was present on the KT5. The upper on the KT5 was a mix of knit and synthetics, something we should expect to see return on this KT6 model.
As far as the outsole goes, we see Anta go away from the “fingerprint” traction pattern from the KT3, KT4 & KT5, and implement a new traction pattern which has similar principles of offering multi-directional coverage. We can see a combination of radial traction in some areas, with what can almost be considered wavebone traction in others. There are some very small pivot points in what could be considered strike-zones of the medial and lateral part of the foot.
Finally, from a picture of the shoe’s “last” (a last is a mechanical form made from cast iron in the shape of the shoe’s outsole; the rubber is poured into the last in order to produce the actual outsole to construct the shoe) we can see that the words “forward together” appear on the outsole — perhaps a reference to the Warriors quest to return to championship contention in the 2020/21 NBA season.
