Nike recently unveiled the product line-up for “Mamba Week”, which will begin on Kobe Bryant’s birthday August 23rd and continue on the unofficial “Mamba Day’ August 24th (24/8 or 8/24 to Americans, representing the two jersey numbers Kobe wore across his career).
Following is the release dates for the various Kobe 5 Protro colourways that are a part of the line-up;
Kobe 5 Protro “Big Stage”, 23/8, US$180, via SNKRS, Nike.com and select Nike retailers including Foot Locker
Kobe 5 Protro “5x Champ”, 24/8, US$180, via SNKRS, Nike.com and select Nike retailers including Foot Locker
Kobe 5 Protro Undefeated Pack (2 colourways “Unlucky 13” and “Dirty Dozen”), 27/8, US$190, via the Nike SNKRS app only
Dirty Dozen is based on various colours of teams that passed on Kobe Bryant on draft day, while Unlucky 13 is based on the team that eventually did draft him, the Charlotte Hornets.

Additionally as part of the pack, there is a special edition “Black Mamba” jersey which has never previously been available. This jersey is done in the Lakers “City Edition” colour scheme with Bryant’s number 8 on the front, and his number 24 on the back. No retail price or release date for this jersey was announced.
Punters, both fans of Kobe himself or of the Nike Kobe 5, will be hoping they can get their hands on these sneakers for retail or a reasonable price before resellers swoop in and do their thing.
